After discovering a love of music the moment he picked up a guitar at 13 years old, Johnny Di Girolamo went on to study theory under the tutelage of Butch Thomas (jazz saxophonist for Lenny Kravitz, Sting & Jaco Pistorius), before heading to Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where he studied songwriting under such luminaries as Geoffrey Williams and Jez Ashurst, as well as several others.

Post university he was busy writing, playing and touring all over the country, culminating in slots at The Cavern Club, O2 academy Liverpool & London, The Horn St Albans & The Dublin Castle, as well as several appearances across BBC radio, before being invited to join BASCA.

No longer touring, Johnny now spends his time composing for clients and helping to develop young writers, as well as being occasional contributor to GAMR, though he can sometimes be found performing a stripped back set in small venues when the mood takes him.
